Zync Quad 9.7–Review

The market is reigning over by 7-inch mini-tabs with low price tag. If you want to get your hands on 10-inch tabs with great price without considering the brand tablets out there, you can consider Zync Quad 9.7 tablet which possesses “Retina” display at affordable price. Let’s have a look around with this tablet so that you can decide whether to get it or not.

Display & Design

This 10-inch tablet has a super HD IPS as its display unit and with a combination of Retina display makes it even better. This tablet is able to deliver 264 ppi pixel density with 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution which makes the contents in the tablet look sharp and clear as well. The tablet can show great display in different viewing angles too. The display is pretty reflective so you can get a clear view under sunlight as well. The display has capacitive buttons and supports multi-touch gesture but the touch sensitivity is rather moderate.

The Zync has a moderate build quality looking like an iPad but without any physical home button. The edges of the tablet have round shapes and it shows durable finish. Though the tablet has low price but it is built showing durability and it is nicely designed.

Camera

It’s a bit unconventional to use camera in tablets but Zync Quad 9.7 features 5MP rear camera with 2MP front-end camera too. We identified some flaws in low-light situations of the camera and it delivered noise in the picture too. The rear camera has autofocus but the front-end camera’s position is a bit awkward and it might feel strange to you to look at it at the top right corner of the screen while holding the tablet horizontally. The camera is average for casual usage.

Technical Aspect

Zync Quad 9.7 features powerful 1.5 GHz processor with Quad-Core technology and a combination of 8-core GPU and 2GB RAM. This powerful setup has the capability of delivering unbelievable performance but unfortunately, it failed to reach our expectation. We’ve noticed a little bit lag while picking up the apps and navigating through the menus. Some of the apps crashed too. We’re assuming the root of these problems is the high resolution display which is taking over its resources.

This tablet will be running on Android’s latest platform Jelly Bean and it would provide great options for the apps too.

Battery Life
The tablet comes with 8000mAh battery storage and we were quite happy with the output we’ve got. On a moderate usage, this tablet lasted more than 24 hours with a single charge. We’ve got 6 hours of video playback at a stretch. So, the battery life of this tablet is pretty good.

Pros
  • High-end specification
  • Better Battery backup
  • Larger display
  • Low price
  • High Resolution Display

Cons
  • No Bluetooth support
  • 2.5 mm rare charging port
  • Gets Hot after a few minutes of usage
  • Unexpected Performance
Though, the tablet has got potential to rise up above all the other tablets but it lacks performance. With only Rs. 13,990 price, this tablet has got high-end specs.
